JACK SIKMA

Jack Sikma arrived in Seattle after being drafted by the Seattle Supersonics in the summer of 1977. His basketball career hit the ground running with the success of the Sonics making the NBA finals in 1978 and winning the NBA Championship in 1979. While a member of the Sonics, Sikma was named to the NBA All-Star Team for seven straight years from 1979 through 1985. In 1986, Jack continued his basketball career while playing for the Milwaukee Bucks before retiring in 1991.
 
After retirement from his NBA playing career, Sikma returned to the Seattle area, where he became involved in numerous real estate projects. He also enjoyed being at home with his wife Shawn and raising their three sons together.  As part of the Seattle community, Sikma was very involved in supporting the Bellevue Boys and Girls Club, the King County Boys and Girls Club, and hosting a golf tournament supporting Seattle Children’s Hospital.
 
Sikma returned to the NBA in 2003, taking a coaching position with the Sonics and remained on the bench as an assistant coach for the next 11 years, including stints in Houston and Minnesota. Since 2014 he continued his involvement as a consultant for NBA teams, including last season for the Toronto Raptors, which culminated with their NBA championship in 2019.
 
Sikma was recently honored with his induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2019. It was an extraordinary experience to be able to share the honor during induction weekend in Springfield, MA, with so many of his peers, family, and friends from his hometown of St Anne, IL, his college days at Illinois Wesleyan University, and from the Seattle area.
 
For his next career chapter, Sikma recently joined his wife Shawn at CBBain as a residential real estate broker; and enjoys (so far) working together in the Seattle/Eastside market.
